1968 - Ober, then specialized in slicing oak, ash and beechwood veneers, invents the first laminated wood panel. Made of soaked kraft back boards, jointed wood veneer and a finish specially developed to soak the wood, this panel offers exceptional surface resistance and was therefore very quickly adopted by carpenters and cabinetmakers for its ease of use. This 1-mm, flexible panel is called Oberflex.
