Repair, or the art of reinforcing each veneer

At Oberflex, every sheet of wood tells a story. Before being transformed into wood interior panels ready for installation, our veneers go through a series of meticulous steps, each requiring specific expertise.

Among them, the repair stage plays an essential role in the final quality of the sheets.

The role of repair specialists

Before pressing, each joined panel undergoes a thorough inspection. Our repair specialists examine every joint and fragile area, then use a hot glue–impregnated thread or technical adhesive tapes to reinforce the most sensitive parts.

The result of know-how developed over many years of experience, each precise and controlled gesture ensures the strength and stability of the veneers while preserving their natural aesthetics. Often invisible at first glance, this step is nevertheless essential to the aesthetic quality and lifespan of Oberflex panels.

Why this step is essential

Repair is not just a technical operation. It directly determines the quality, stability, and final appearance of the veneers.

Each sheet is carefully examined: the eye detects irregularities, anticipates sensitive areas, and checks grain continuity. The hand then adjusts, reinforces, and corrects with precision. This coordination between observation and craftsmanship is based on expertise developed over years through experience and daily practice.

Often invisible once the product is finished, this step fully reflects Oberflex’s high standards: offering veneers that are durable, aesthetic, and suited to the most demanding projects.

Complementary expertise alongside other trades

Repair is part of a chain of complementary expertise, essential to transforming wood:

  • Sorting and jointing, to assemble sheets and create large, homogeneous surfaces.
  • Guillotining, where mechanical precision ensures perfectly controlled dimensions.
  • Lamination, which reveals the wood texture and grain while providing performance and durability.

Together, these skills transform a natural material into a high-quality veneer, ready to inspire architects and designers.
